Thank you for clarifying up the terminology in regard to the difference between a trim and dusting. There are many other terms that I could use a heads up on. (No pun intended) Such as.....what is the difference between notching, feathering and thinning out? Thank you for all your help.

ok I am a hairstylist. I know the difference between a trim and a dusting some people might not of heard the new terms. Now with feathering notching and thinning. Notchin would be using notching shears used as a thinning method if the hair is very bulky i would notch it out...now if you only want it thinned in certain places you would use thinning shears and feathering is a technique we use when cutting to feather the ends of the hair... we cut out at the ends with our scissors instead of straight across blunt ends?? Does this answer your questions?

I use that term all the time with my customers. I have to explain it...but trim and dusting are two totally different things!!
